Welcome to the IncInnovations.com blog, where we explore the fascinating world of electrical advancements and their impact on society.

Illuminating the Past: Electrical Advancements, 1877-1909

This innovation marked a turning point in the United States because it made safe, and reliable indoor lighting as opposed to having to light up candles, and or using small lamps.

During this time period the electrical innovation that was introduced and the innovation that would be the highlight of this era is the light bulb, perfected by Thomas Edison in 1879.

The lightbulb also enabled for cities to be electrified, which meant homes and factories were as well, this reshaped urban life and productivity. Due to the innovation of the lightbulb, this led to the creation of the first electric power grid, which started in New York City in 1882.

Furthermore, the lightbulb had its unique way and impact on urbanization, for example there were now more opportunities for factories and businesses as they could now operate beyond daylight, which fueled growth, and it attracted workers to cities. On the cultural side, nightlife was more common, restaurants, dance halls and social clubs became a new norm, people had an opportunity to expand their lives as it was safer to be out at night.

The Mid-Century Spark: Electrical Progress, 1910-1959

Starting off in 1910, the electric washing machine was introduced and became more affordable. As well as electrical fridges replacing iceboxes transformed food storage. These inventions decreased the domestic labor workload, especially for the women of the household who were responsible for these tasks.

The invention of radio broadcasting helped shape the culture in American society. it changed the way people could connect and consume information through a newfound mass communication. The radio could reach millions of people at a time: sharing music, politics, and crisis hotlines bridging the economic, geographic, and literacy divides people faced before.

The radio grew popular music like jazz, country, and rock. Which was slightly controversial because of the implementation of black culture through music into other youths, which some more traditional parents didn't agree with, but it spread culture regardless and created a shift.

Now the radio was also used to influence things like mass consumption through 2/3rds of radio programming carrying advertising. This was the beginning of commercial media.

The radio shifted politics giving politicians direct access to voters never before seen, passing on campaigns and personal promotions. Often spreading wartime propaganda and even the fairness doctrine to ensure fairness in political coverage.

Digital Dawn: Electrical Innovations, 1960-2016

Explore the digital revolution and the electrical advancements that powered it. We'll highlight the key innovations that defined this period and their profound impact on the United States.

Wi-Fi: The world wide web was built off the radio wave transmissions first proven by Heinrich in the 1880s. John O'Sullivan developed a method to reduce signal distortion which became essential to Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi became the standard for wireless internet in homes, businesses, and anywhere else by 2007. It shifted the way we learn and live through enabling remote work and mobile internet access.

Smartphones: The first smartphone was first announced in 1994, known as the IBM Simon personal communicator. The invention of the smartphone allowed for personalized communication: allowing real time voice exchange, transformed business gov: faster decision making and better customer service, connected families: created less emotional distance during war, migration, and urbanization due to their ability to communicate, and improved public safety: instant emergency calls, telemedicine. The smartphone allowed for an improvement in one of the most essential expressions through humans today, communication.
